Commission on Francophone Schools

The report of the Commission on Francophone Schools is awaiting translation.  The Executive Summary of the Report is available.

Together let's build the best schools possible for our children

Francophone schools shape the future of the Acadian and Francophone community of New Brunswick. In addition to educating, they are also involved in passing down the language and culture. To fulfil their two-fold mission, Francophone schools must take up these special challenges, which are summarized below:

Children and Parents

  • Strengthen the attachment to the French language and Acadian and Francophone culture.
  • Encourage Charter rights parents to choose a Francophone school for their child.
  • Improve school readiness.

Schools

  • Improve the performance of Francophone students.
  • Deal with changes in the school population.
  • Improve student services.
  • Improve services for children of immigrant families and value cultural diversity.
  • Improve teacher recruitment and retention.

Communities

  • Place a higher value on education and academic success in our communities.
  • Encourage parents and the community to become more involved in the life of the school.

Together let's build the best schools possible for our children
