The Assistant Deputy Minister is responsible for the smooth operation of the major components of the Francophone Educational Services Division: instructional services, which encompasses curriculum development and implementation; professional development; student services, including special education, school psychology, school guidance counselling, school retention, and student life; and assessment and evaluation which encompasses the K-12 provincial examinations, the pan-Canadian and international assessments, the teacher evaluation programme, the principal evaluation programme and the school evaluation programme..
