Did You Know?

One out of every three Canadians identifies themselves as a workaholic, and these individuals are much more likely to be dissatisfied with the balance between their work and family time than other workers, a new study has found.

About 39% of self-identified workaholics reported that they usually worked 50 or more hours per week, twice the proportion of only 20% among non-workaholics.

Are you a Best Small-Medium Employer in Canada? Participate in Queen’s
University study!

At the May 22nd Closing the Wage Gap: Increasing Productivity and Prosperity for New Brunswick Businesses conference, we provided a seminar on the Queen’s University study: Best Small-Medium Employers in Canada.

To date, there has been limited participation by New Brunswick employers. By increasing the number of provincial companies, we can obtain a New Brunswick employer overview. The deadline for this year’s study is mid-June and there is no cost to participate.

Participation in the study will provide you with benchmarks against which to measure your organization and its performance. You will be able to identify your organization's strengths as an employer, as well as your challenges, providing the opportunity to focus your efforts to ensure that your people practices are aligned with your company's strategy.

All participants in the study will receive a report that highlights their employee engagement survey results with key comparisons to the Best Small & Medium Employers in Canada. There is also an opportunity for organizations to receive a more detailed analysis. QCBV is pleased to discuss these other options with interested participants.
