Recreaplex Inc. is a unique recreational centre for the whole family. It provides the following: 25-meter indoor leisure pool with a 30-meter water slide, two children water slides, a whirlpool, a sauna, a fitness centre and much more. The building is fully accessible to persons with disabilities.


RECREATION DEPARTMENTS AND PARKS
Most municipalities of the province have a recreation department which provides recreational facilities and programs which are offered to all children, usually up to the age of 17 years. Children with disabilities can take part in such programs. For more detailed information on the recreational services available in your area, contact your municipal office.

Open to individual referral, our service provides relief and companionship to families of children under the age of twenty-one (21) years with any developmental special need throughout the counties of Westmorland, Albert and Kent. Families can schedule up to a maximum of forty-eight (48) hours of relief care each month. The child is matched on an individual basis with a volunteer care provider. Volunteers participate in a thorough screening process. Care is provided either in the child's home, in the home of the individual providing the respite or in the community.

The Restigouche Autism Center provides our community with information pertaining to autism, as well as a place for families to develop a support network.  We welcome individuals with autism, their families and caregivers, professionals and students in the health care and education systems, as well as anyone touched by autism.  We offer lending services such as: books, videos, toys and educational tools.  Parents can come in and watch a video or DVD with their child or listen to educational or relaxation music.  We also have one computer for children and one for parents, with a printer and Internet access to facilitate information research and communication.  We also guide families towards professional resources available in our region.  Services available in both English and French.

Restigouche Family Crisis Interveners provides information, support and referrals to the appropriate agencies in areas such as family violence, domestic disputes, problems regarding youth, alcohol and drug addiction, emotional problems, suicidal tendencies or suicide attempts, death and dying, need for food or shelter, fear of violence and sexual assault. Services are available on a 24-hour basis. Services available in English and French.

The Restigouche Residential Agency Inc. provides the necessary services to each client so that he/she attains his/her full potential and facilitates the acquisition of personal and social abilities conducive to autonomy. The agency collaborates with local and provincial organizations that can contribute to the improvement of life of a person. The agency promotes to the community the needs of their clients as well as protect their rights.
