Volunteers work one-on-one with the individual to make assistive aids or modifications to their environment so that greater independence can be achieved. Promotional material is available as well as presentations or visits. Services are provided in English and French. For services in French, please contact: THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATIONS These groups offer a horse-back riding program for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. They are promoting riding as a recreational and developmental activity for persons with disabilities in New Brunswick. It is also being recognized by many therapists as an exercise that has enormous physical benefits. A doctor's permission is required to enter the program. It offers free “Health Guides” available in English or French. The foundation hopes that with increased awareness and knowledge of thyroid disease, patients will be diagnosed sooner. TOURETTE SYNDROME FOUNDATION OF CANADA The Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada provides support to individuals, families and other professionals affected by and/or interested in Tourette Syndrome. We provide support through the dissemination of brochures and booklets. Specialized information packages are available to medical and education professionals upon request. We also offer telephone support (at both a national and local level) and run chapter meetings (across the country), workshops and annual general meetings. Memberships are $35.00/individual & $50.00/family a year and come with many benefits such as reduced costs to attend our workshops and conferences as well as subscription to our national newsletter. We also provide in-services for schools, teachers and also at workplaces.
