Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program - Children under the age of 18 who are missing a
limb or limbs at birth, from medical causes or due to an accident are eligible to enroll in
CHAMP. The program offers financial assistance for artificial limbs and related expenses;
counseling to Champs and their families; regular regional seminars; matches families who
have children with similar amputations through Matching Mothers; specially-designed recreational limbs and adaptive devices, and encourages Champs to live full and
active lives. JUMPSTART assists Super Champs (multiple amputee children) with
computers and computer training as an educational aid to ensure their employment

National Amputee Centre - Educates amputees and family members about aspects of amputation, including the latest information on artificial limbs and products. Provides a comprehensive library and website section and publishes amputee resources. Contact the National Amputee Centre at (877) 622-2472 for more information. Adult Prosthetics Program - Provides financial assistance to registered adult amputees in Canada for the purchase of artificial limbs. WORKER APPEALSERVICES A United Way agency that services the greater Saint John area and charges no fee for service. Experienced staff may help injured or disabled workers to appeal decisions of WorkSafeNB and the Canada Pension Disability Plan (CPDP). Also assist and/or represent clients with appeals before the Employment Insurance (EI) Board of Referees. Clients may be referred to a wide range of services and agencies in Saint John. Staff are able to visit schools and service clubs to conduct information sessions regarding the work they do. WORKERS' ADVOCATES Workers' Advocates are in place to assist injured workers or their dependents in respect of any claim being advanced for compensation before WorkSafeNB. We provide information about WorkSafeNB, policies and practices; provide advice to injured workers or their dependents relative to issues that arise in relation to claims before WorkSafeNB; provide direct representation to injured workers or their dependents with respect to issues under appeal, although in some special circumstances we may decline to represent.
