Christyne Allain - Executive Director

Christyne Allain, Executive Director

Christyne Allain is the Executive Director of the Premier’s Council on the Status of Disabled Persons. Christyne was raised in Fredericton and graduated from École Sainte-Anne. She then graduated from St-Thomas University with a Bachelor of Arts and a double major in Psychology and Gerontology. Christyne has also acquired credit courses in effective communication through the University of Sherbrooke.

Prior to joining the Premier’s Council staff she worked with the Department of Health, Provincial Epidemiology Services, the Commission on Legislative Democracy, Literacy NB and the Department of Finance. As a representative of the Premier’s Council, Christyne sits on a number of committees, including the Dial-a-bus Committee, Co-Chair of N.B. Disability Awareness Week, Recreation NB Committee, Premier’s Committee on Healthy Families, MHCC Housing Committee, Women & Girls at Risk, Women & Violence, Mental Health Services Advisory Committee, NB Disability Executives' Network, etc. and is involved in a variety of other projects and consultations as well.


 

Laurie Muise, Assistant Executive Director

Laurie Muise is the new Assistant Executive Director for the Premier’s Council on the Status of Disabled Persons. A lifelong resident of Oromocto, Laurie holds a degree in Recreation and Sport Studies, with a major in Business Administration, from the University of New Brunswick. He also graduated from the Recreation Management Diploma Program at Holland College, and received certification as a Community Development Officer.

Laurie has many years of experience in advocating and promoting the importance of community inclusion for people with disabilities. He has worked with Recreation NB, the NB Association for Community Living, and the Oromocto Training and Employment Center. Laurie is excited to continue working with people with disabilities and various stakeholders so that together, we can achieve positive outcomes and reduce the many barriers for people with disabilities throughout New Brunswick.


 

Kristin Colwell - Secretary/Bookkeeper
Kristin Colwell, Office Manager

Kristin joined the Premier’s Council as the Secretary/Bookkeeper in April 2003. Prior to joining the Premier’s Council staff she worked with NB Easter Seals March of Dimes, a not-for profit organization that helps children and adults with physical disabilities. Graduated from CompuCollege in 2002, Kristin majored in Business, Accounting and Computer Applications.

 

 


 

Geb Bernard - Information ClerkGeb Bernard, Information Clerk

Gabrielle Bernard, or “Geb” by preference, is originally from Bathurst and joined the Premier’s Council as the receptionist/librarian/data-entry clerk after having spent eleven years in Saint John, where she had received her diploma in Business Technology from NBCC-Saint John.  Geb enjoys watching movies, cross-stitching and Egyptology and has been an active board member of a Saint-John based gaming convention, “Impossible Realities”, for a number of years.
