Intergovernmental Affairs
To provide a strategic and corporate approach to the management of relations with other governments, communities and organizations in support of the Government's vision for New Brunswick.
North American Division
Coordinates a corporate approach to:
- promoting and protecting New Brunswick's interests within the Canadian federation and with the United States;
- pursuing regional cooperation as a strategic approach to achieving the social and economic priorities of New Brunswick;
- seeking increased federal investment in New Brunswick;
- maximizing the economic and social benefits for New Brunswick as a member of the Council of Atlantic Premiers, the Council of Maritime Premiers and the Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers.
International Relations and Francophonie Division
- Manages cooperative agreements and arrangements with Canadian and Foreign governments;
- coordinates New Brunswick's participation in international intergovernmental organizations and manages the negotiation and implementation of federal-provincial agreements relative to official languages so as to promote and protect the Province's economic, social and cultural objectives.
Trade Policy Division
- Maximizes opportunities and minimize constraints inherent in trading relations for all New Brunswickers, by actively engaging in the negotiation, implementation and dispute settlement aspects of domestic and international trade agreements.
