The Department of Justice and Consumer Affairs is inviting comments on proposed regulations presented in a Consultation Paper on Regulations under the Franchises Act.
The consultation paper includes two proposed regulations:
1.
Disclosure regulation
This regulation will establish details of a disclosure document that franchisors must provide to franchisees before a franchise agreement is signed.
2. Mediation regulation
This regulation will describe the framework for the mediation process.
Individuals and groups are encouraged to provide written input on the consultation paper and proposed regulations. See Consultation Paper (PDF).
The consultation period on proposed regulations under
the Franchises Act concluded on June 12, 2009. The Department of Justice
and Consumer Affairs thanks all individuals and organizations for their submissions.
