REGULATION 96-26

under the

ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT

(O.C. 96-423)

 

Filed April 25, 1996

Under section 8 of the Endangered Species Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Regulation:

1 This Regulation may be cited as the Endangered Species Regulation - Endangered Species Act.

2(1) The following species of fauna are designated as endangered:

(a) Leatherback Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea);

(b) Eastern Cougar (Felis concolor couguar);

(c) Harlequin Duck (Histrionicus histrionicus);

(d) Maritime Ringlet Butterfly (Coenonympha inornata nipisiquit);

(e) Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus anatum); and

(f) Piping Plover (Charadrius melodus).

2(2) The following species of flora are designated as endangered:

(a) Anticosti Aster (Aster anticostensis);

(b) Bathurst Aster (Aster subulatus var. obtusifolius);

(c) Furbish’s Lousewort (Pedicularis furbishiae);

(d) Gulf of St. Lawrence Aster (Aster laurentianus);

(e) Parker’s Pipewort (Eriocaulon parkeri);

(f) Pine-drops (Pterospora andromedea);

(g) Prototype Quillwort (Isoetes prototypus); and

(h) Southern Twayblade (Listera australis).

3 The following species of fauna are designated as regionally endangered:

(a) Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus); and

(b) Canada Lynx (Lynx canadensis).

4 New Brunswick Regulation 82-248 under the Endangered Species Act is repealed.

 

5 This Regulation comes into force on April 30, 1996.
