Access to Family Justice Task Force

Background:
The government of New Brunswick has committed to take action to improve access to family justice. The Minister of Justice and Consumer Affairs, the Honourable Thomas J. Burke, Q.C., has established the Access to Family Justice Task Force.

Membership:
The members of the task force are: Mr. Justice Raymond Guerette, Chair, Campbellton; Michelle Boudreau-Dumas, Campbellton; Sheila Cameron, Moncton; Jennifer Donovan, Fredericton; Mary-Eileen Flanagan, Saint John; David Lutz, Q.C., Hampton; and Brenda Noble, Q.C., Saint John.

Terms of Reference:
The Task Force shall undertake a review of the family court system and will make recommendations to the government of New Brunswick that will lead to:

  1. More timely access to justice in resolving family law disputes;
  2. Expanded use of alternatives to the family court to resolve family law issues; and,
  3. Increased access to legal information and legal assistance in family law matters.
