Research

The Commission on Legislative Democracy will be sponsoring a selective number of original research papers by academic experts from New Brunswick and elsewhere in Canada.

These research papers will provide a strong academic research foundation to support the Commission’s mandate and terms of reference and ultimately its final report and recommendations.

The aim of the research will be to ensure the Commission has access to informed academic research on the most important areas of our mandate, stimulate debate and discussion on the subject areas, and ensure a specific research focus on the impact and implications of changes to New Brunswick’s democratic institutions and practices.

Once completed, all papers will be provided on the Commission’s website.

Original research papers will focus on the following areas:

Additional research papers may be considered.

The research component of the Commission’s work will be directed by Dr. Bill Cross, Director of Research for the Commission on Legislative Democracy, and Davidson Chair and Director of the Centre for Canadian Studies at Mount Allison University.
