Route 17 Upgrades – North of Mud Brook to Hammond Gate Road Area

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to improve deficiencies in the current Route 17 highway from north of Mud Brook to Hammond Gate Road area in Victoria County. The new bypass alignment will be north of the existing roadway and will be designed to meet present-day standards to improve safety, including flatter grades, creation of passing opportunities, upgrades to guiderail requirements and increased shoulder widths. The project is approximately 5 km in length.

The Department of Transportation registered the project with the Department of Environment in accordance with Section 5(1) and Schedule “A” of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation. (Project Number 1226)
