The Work Area Traffic Control Manual (WATCM) provides a uniform set of traffic control guidelines for all work carried out on New Brunswick provincial roads. Any work that occurs within the right-of-way of a provincial road must conform to the guidelines prescribed by this manual.
The previous WATCM was discontinued on Sunday May 3, 2009. The new WATCM came into effect on Monday May 4, 2009.
As of Friday February 13, 2009, Contractors were required to use the new WATCM in the bidding of 2009/2010 contracts with the Province of New Brunswick. Contractors shall perform all Work on Contracts in conformance with the new WATCM and its changes, including using a Truck-Mounted Attenuator where applicable.
