National Artists' Program

The National Artists' Program (NAP), a component of the Canada Games, is a mentorship program for young artists from every province and territory. The Program gives young artists the opportunity to experience the two weeks of the Games while participating in one of four artistic disciplines: dance, music, theatre arts, and visual arts.

The primary objective of the Program is for young artists between the ages of 16 to 23 years to perform and practice their discipline, and to create artistic works inspired by and representative of the spirit of the Canada Games.

Under the guidance of senior arts facilitators, young artists respond artistically to the Canada Games both individually and collectively. The history of the Games, Games' motto, local settings, sporting venues, athletic competition, and the wide diversity of the competitors and participants provide a starting point for artistic works.

In New Brunswick, the Wellness, Culture and Sport manages the National Artists' Program.
