Leadership

To assist an organization in developing its leaders, a financial contribution may be available for:

Honorarium

Where appropriate (e.g. depending on qualifications) a financial contribution up to a maximum of $100 per seven hour session, may be available for resource persons used as instructors for:

  -  Demonstration clinics
  -  Instructional clinics for leaders
  -  Instructional clinics for event "staff" and organizers
  -  Skill development clinics

Travel

A financial contribution of up to 15 cents per kilometer may be available for participants and instructors, for distances exceeding 200 kilometers return.

Meals

Where appropriate, a financial contribution for meals may be available for resource persons used as instructors at the following maximum rates:

  - Breakfast $4.00
  - Dinner $6.00
  - Supper $10.00

Lodging

A financial contribution, up to a maximum of $60. per night (based on double occupancy), may be available to participants and instructors when necessary.

Generally, organizations should keep administrative costs to a maximum of 10% of the total budget for each project.

"Self help" should be built into all project submissions. Government cannot be expected to totally fund every project, and applicants should be prepared to make individual or collective contributions.

Project goals and objectives must be consistent with Branch priorities.

Applications should be submitted prior to the event / project using form this form

Grant recipients must submit the Branch report form to their regional consultant at the conclusion of the project. Copies of any associated press releases / clippings should accompany the report form.
