Interprovincial Migration: Movement from one province or territory involving a permanent change in residence.	Migration interprovinciale : Ensemble des déplacements d'une province ou d’un territoire vers un autre, accompagnés d'un changement permanent de résidence.
International Migration: Movement of population between Canada and a foreign country that involves a change in the usual place of residence. A distinction is made with regard to immigrants, emigrants, returning emigrants, net temporary emigrants and net non-permanent residents.	Migration internationale : Ensemble des déplacements entre le Canada et l'étranger, accompagnés d'un changement permanent de résidence. On distingue à cet égard les immigrants, les émigrants, les émigrants de retour, le solde de l’émigration temporaire ainsi que le solde des résidents non permanents.
Immigrant: Refers to landed immigrant. A landed immigrant is a person who does not have Canadian citizenship but was granted the right by immigration authorities to live in Canada on a permanent basis.	Immigrant : Fait référence à celui d'immigrant reçu. Un immigrant reçu est une personne qui n'a pas le statut de citoyen canadien de naissance et à laquelle les autorités de l'immigration ont accordé le droit de vivre au Canada en permanence.
Emigrant: Canadian citizen or immigrant who has left Canada to establish a permanent residence in another country.	Émigrant : Citoyen canadien ou immigrant ayant quitté le Canada pour s’établir en permanence dans un autre pays.
Returning Emigrant: Canadian citizen or immigrant having previously emigrated from Canada and who subsequently returned to the country.	Émigrant de retour : Citoyen canadien ou immigrant ayant préalablement émigré du Canada et qui revient s’établir au pays.
Temporary Emigrant: Canadian citizen or immigrant living temporarily abroad who has not maintained a usual place of residence in Canada.	Émigrant temporaire : Citoyen canadien ou immigrant vivant temporairement à l’étranger et ne possédant plus de lieu habituel de résidence au Canada.
Total Emigrants: Prior to 1996, the number of total emigrants is obtained by subtracting the number of returning emigrants from the number of permanent emigrants. After 1996, changes in the number of persons temporarily abroad are also taken into account.	Émigrants totaux : Avant 1996, le nombre d'émigrants totaux est calculé en soustrayant le nombre d'émigrants de retour de celui des émigrants permanents. Après 1996, on tient également compte des changements dans le nombre de personnes temporairement à l'étranger.
Non-permanent Residents: Refers to persons who hold a study permit, a work permit, a minister's permit or who are claiming refugee status. It also includes their non-Canadian born dependants living in Canada.	Résidents non permanents : Personnes qui détiennent un permis d’étudiant, un permis de travail, un permis ministériel, ou qui demandent le statut de réfugié. Aussi inclus les personnes à charge qui sont nées à l'extérieur du Canada et résident au Canada.
Residual Deviation: Obtained by distributing the closure error linearly throughout the intercensal period. The "error of closure" is defined as the difference between the enumerated population of the most recent census (after adjustments for census coverage error) and the most current set of postcensal population estimate (for census day).	L'écart résiduel : Obtenu en répartissant l'erreur en fin de période de façon linéaire au cours de la période intercensitaire. Par " erreur en fin de période ", on entend la différence entre la population du recensement le plus récent (corrigé de l'erreur de couverture) et les estimations postcensitaires (au jour du recensement).
Total Growth: Change in population size from one date to another.	Accroissement total : Variation de l'effectif de la population entre deux dates.
