The New Brunswick Prescription Drug Program (NBPDP)
rural pharmacy incentive will pay an additional $2 dispensing fee for
each of the first 10,000 NBPDP prescriptions filled per fiscal year to
qualifying pharmacies.
This incentive applies to pharmacies that are the only
pharmacy in a community and are 25 km or more from the next nearest pharmacy.
The rural incentive amount will be calculated quarterly
by NBPDP (April to June, July to September, October to December and January
to March). Payments will be made to qualifying pharmacies by cheque following
each quarter. No additional information is required from pharmacies.
Qualifying pharmacies will be identified by NBPDP. These
pharmacies will no longer qualify for the rural incentive if a new pharmacy
opens within 25 km. Any payments made under this policy once the new pharmacy
opens will be recovered.
The qualifying New Brunswick pharmacies as of March
1st, 2015 are listed below.
