Recipient of the 1st NB Fire Prevention Award

The Office of the Fire Marshal presented the 1st New Brunswick Office of the Fire Marshal Fire Prevention Award to Tammy Webb of the Fredericton Junction Fire Department in recognition of their exceptional efforts in the advancement of Fire Prevention Public Education in 2004.

The award was presented at the Capital District Firefighters Association Meeting on February 14, 2005.

The Fire Prevention Award is a new province wide initiative which is sponsored by the Office of the Fire Marshal, the New Brunswick Association of Fire Chiefs, and the New Brunswick Association of Fire Prevention Officers. To be eligible, New Brunswick Fire Departments fire prevention representatives are asked to submit a detailed account of their public education initiatives.

Applications were received from Volunteer, Career and Composite Fire Departments from throughout New Brunswick.

The award recognizes exemplary fire prevention initiatives and is also part of a Fire Marshal's Office initiative to increase the visibility of New Brunswick firefighters.

The 2004 winner, Tammy Webb, Fredericton Junction Fire Department, was presented with a plaque in recognition of her efforts.
