Evaluation

Funding provided by the federal Health Transition Fund (HTF) to the Department of Health and Wellness is being used to support the ongoing implementation and evaluation of the Rehabilitation Services Plan which began in April 1997 and will continue until March 2000. Findings from the evaluation will be compiled into a final evaluation report. This report will be submitted to the HTF by the end of August 2000. Early in 1999, an HTF Project Team was formed to oversee the project. As well, the following committees were formed:

  • Evaluation Advisory Committee
  • Priority Setting Expert Group
  • Priority Setting Stakeholder Group
  • RSP Monitoring Committee

Project activities include:

  • implementation of the Rehabilitation Services Plan (RSP) province wide
  • development of an evaluation framework to guide the evaluation of the RSP strategies;
  • promotion of regional priority setting initiatives consistent with the RSP directions;
  • revisions to the RSP Monitoring System.
