  Annual Silage Mixture Evaluation

Abstract: Japanese Millet yields ranged from 5000-4960 and 3710-3600 kg/ha at the Miramichi and Bathurst. Mixtures of Barley - Annual Westerwolds Ryegrass - Alsike Clover (40-20-5 kg/ha), and a pure stand of Annual Ryegrass provided good yields in Bathurst with 3960 and 3740 kg/ha. Mixture of Oats-Annual Ryegrass - Alsike Clover (40-20-5 kg/ha) yielded 3630 kg/ha in Bathurst. Protein yield of the Annual Ryegrass ranged from 710 and 730 kg/ha in the Miramichi and Bathurst. Mixtures of spring grains (Oats & Barley) - Annual Ryegrass - Alsike Clover provide a good protein yield of 780-610 kg/ha.
