Abstract: A study was conducted at the New Brunswick Horticulture Centre in Hoyt, Sunbury county, in 1997, to determine the optimal nitrogen rate of application under drip irrigation for the processing potato variety Russet Burbank. For the overall nitrogen application rates, both total and marketable yields were respectively higher by 140.9 and 108.0 Cwt/acre when soil moisture was maintained between 35 % allowable depletion and field capacity. Increasing the nitrogen rate of application above the recommended rate had no significant effect on the total and marketable yield, under supplemental irrigation.
