  Control of Common Leaf Spot in Strawberry

Abstract: Control of common leaf spot (Mycosphaerella fragariae) was evaluated on two commercial strawberry farms in Central New Brunswick. Fungicides evaluated were; propiconazole (Topas 250E 500ml/ha), myclobutanil (Nova 40W 340g/ha), chlorothalonil (Bravo 500 2.0 L/ha), chlorothalonil (Bravo 500 3.5 L/ha, flusilazol (Nustar 20DF 200 g/ha) and dodine (Cyprex 65W 740g/ha). Applications were made on 17, 26 August, and 06, 17, 27 September. On 9 November 78 percent of leaves in the untreated controls (trials combined) were infected with common leaf spot. The percent disease control for the two trials combined for the various treatments were; Topas 89%, Nova 76%, Bravo 2.0L 70%, Bravo 3.5L 69%, Nustar 62% and Cyprex 56%.
