Abstract: A greenhouse experiment was conducted at Jolly Farmer Products Inc. in Northampton, New Brunswick between 25 November 2003 and 25 February 2004 to evaluate the efficacy of thirteen compost tea + supplement combinations to protect potatoes against late blight. Supplements included Organic Gem, Neptune's, Vinegar, Whey, Potassium Bicarbonate, Seaweed Extract, Super Flow, ELS, Cider, Molasses, and Humate 85% Soluble. A control compost tea treatment without food supplement along with water only control were also included. Inoculation was conducted on 19 February 2004. Percent disease incidence and severity were assessed on 25 February 2004. Treatment 7 (compost tea + super flow) was significantly different than all other treatments (excluding treatment 5: compost tea + potassium bicarbonate) where the lowest disease severity (38.33%) was detected. Disease severities for the rest of the treatments were higher and ranged between 50 and 76.65%). Disease incidence was 100% in all treatments.
