Louis-Emmanuel Jamet Before joining CAA-Quebec, Louis-Emmanuel Jamet was responsible for product development and marketing initiatives for a major Quebec-based tour operator, Kilometre Voyages in which his primary responsibility was developing packages in the Province of Quebec. He has been an active member of the Product Innovation & Enhancement Committee of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) for the past two years and is also involved with the CTC's Tourism Innovation Partnerships Program. For the past six years, Mr. Jamet has been with CAA-Quebec where one of his areas of responsibilities is to promote domestic travel within Canada for CAA-Quebec members and clients, in particular the New Brunswick/Quebec/Ontario and Western Canada regions. CAA-Quebec continues to be an excellent partner to New Brunswick Tourism and Parks and has brought significant business to some of the province's operators who participate in the CAA-Quebec programs. Alister Mathieson Alister Mathieson was appointed Dean of the School of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism at Humber College in Toronto in April 2001. Mr. Mathieson re-entered the educational arena after spending 15 years in executive positions within the tourism industry in Australia, U.S.A. and Canada. Most recently, he was Vice-President of Product and Travel Related Businesses for the Thomas Cook Group and prior to that was Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for World of Vacations. Mr. Mathieson also held Managing Director roles for companies in Los Angeles and Sydney. Mr. Mathieson holds a first class honors degree from the University of Otago in New Zealand and an M.A. from the University of Waterloo, Ontario. He is also the author of two university text books in Tourism Economics and Socio-cultural Impact Assessment.
Jane Williams Jane Williams is Vice President, Client Services at Marketel, a full-service advertising and communications company based in Montréal, affiliated with McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, one of the world's largest agencies. Jane has created and managed multidisciplinary communications campaigns for a range of major multinational clients. She is experienced in all media, from TV to the web, and has expertise in Canada-wide and US markets. Jane has arguably managed more tourism client budgets than anyone else in Canada, including many years on Tourisme Montréal and Tourisme Québec, and currently handles all of Air Canada's tourism co-op business, among other assignments.
Linda Gourlay After a MBA in market research and a career in public and private sector senior management, Linda (Hall) Gourlay joined her husband in the publishing business in 1998. In 2000, Saltscapes was launched and two years later the magazine was the largest paid circulation magazine the region had ever seen. Saltscapes has received several regional, national and international journalism and design awards since 2002. The family run business also publishes Atlantic Canada's oldest paid-circulation periodical, Eastern Woods & Waters and partners with a regional private sector ferry operator in the publication of an annual vacation planner, Coastal Discovery Guide (as it is branded in the US) and Saltscapes Travel Guide to Canada's East Coast (as it is branded to Canadians). In 2005, Saltscapes launched a lifestyle consumer show reflecting the best of Atlantic Canada. The Saltscapes Expo is held in late April each year in Halifax.
Prof. Keith Dewar Keith Dewar came to academics after 20 years with Parks Canada where he worked as a Naturalist and Visitor Activities Officer. He taught ecology at University of Waterloo, then moved to New Zealand where he taught tourism and heritage management. In 2002, he returned to Canada to take up a position in the hospitality and tourism program at University of New Brunswick, Saint John. He has been involved in development of tourism strategic plans for the cities of Harbin and Hangzhou in China. Presently he is involved in planning and development of Partridge Island Historic Site and Green Open Space management projects in Saint John.
Réal Robichaud Mr. Robichaud began his career as Executive Director of TIANB in 1999 and since that time has increased staff from three to nine employees. As well, during this time he has increased membership from 200 to almost 600 tourism businesses with the support and dedication of staff. As the former manager of a tourism business, "Camping Shippagan" and the Cultural and Tourism Development Director for the Town of Shippagan, Mr. Robichaud understands the needs of the tourism industry. Through the implementation of new programs and services, TIANB is committed to be a representative, industry driven organization which provides leadership and direction, making tourism and hospitality the leading and most viably sustainable industry in New Brunswick. |
