The Fisheries Renewal Framework represents the results of a comprehensive review of the state of the fishing and seafood processing industry in New Brunswick, and includes a strategic direction to maintain its position as a significant contributor to the economic well being and self-sufficiency of the province.

This Fisheries Renewal Framework offers a vision for New Brunswick's fishing and seafood processing industry. It allows us to identify the current state of the fishery, as well as the initiatives we need to implement to secure a sustainable, economically-viable future. The Department of Fisheries will continue to work closely with industry leaders to develop and refresh our specific priorities and strategies with our progressive Action Plans. The 2009-2010 Action Plan is the next step in the transformation and renewal of our province's fishery.
