Auditor General
Mike Ferguson was appointed
Auditor General of New Brunswick effective November 1, 2005, for a ten-year term.
Mike comes to the position of Auditor General following
an extensive career with the government of New Brunswick in the Office of the Comptroller. He started in that
office in 1985 and served as Comptroller from 2000 to 2005. Prior to that, he spent five years with the
chartered accounting firm Doane Raymond.
Mike has served on numerous boards and organizations.
He is currently a member of the Council of the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is a past
member of the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, a past
member of the PSAB task force on consolidations and a past member of the PSAB task force on employee future benefits.
A graduate of the University of New Brunswick,
Mike holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and is a Chartered Accountant.
