In a time of global economic uncertainty, the Government of New Brunswick has acted to minimize the impact on our people and our province. The five-point plan outlined here has two key goals:

	First, the plan stimulates local economic activity to counter the effects of the economic downturn. It protects jobs, supports businesses, encourages young people to stay in or return to New Brunswick and ensures that the quality of life in our province can be maintained. And it sets a responsible plan for our province to return to balanced budgets as soon as possible;
	Second the plan reinforces New Brunswick's fundamental economic strengths so that the province will continue its progress toward the long-term goal of self-sufficiency by 2026.
