Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick
Speech from the Throne 2007

Significant amendments to the Motor Vehicle Act and Off-Road Vehicle Act, strategic assistance for the forest industry, a new prescription monitoring plan and forging a new relationship with Aboriginal communities are among the initiatives included in today's first Speech from the Throne of the 56th Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick. The speech outlined the government's legislative agenda for its first legislative session.

"Your government is driven by the goal of making New Brunswick self-sufficient over the next 20 years. This means increasing New Brunswick's population, economic output, productivity and income levels. It will chart the course for the kind of transformational change that has not been witnessed in New Brunswick in more than a generation."

- Hon. Herménégilde Chiasson
Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick
