2009-2010

Lt.-Gov. Graydon Nicholas delivered the 2009-2010 Throne Speech during the Opening of the Fourth Session of the 56th Legislature.

Central themes of the speech were seizing opportunities to lower energy rates in New Brunswick, reducing poverty, while empowering and creating jobs for people, enhancing health and senior care, promoting literacy and positioning the province for significant economic growth.

“We have made great strides toward our destination of a self-sufficient New Brunswick, but today, gaps remain that will not be crossed with timid steps. Great strides have been made, but more must be done. Your government will continue to build on this success to create opportunities today for self-sufficiency tomorrow.”
