FREDERICTON (CNB) - A conference to be held in Fredericton from Oct. 1-3 will see the social responsibility committee of the Canadian Association of Liquor Jurisdictions (CALJ) present best practices, share programs and discuss topical issues related to the social responsibility of retailing beverage alcohol.
The committee is made of up representatives from each of the country's 13 liquor boards or commissions that advise CALJ on social responsibility issues, monitor trends, and co-ordinate CALJ's national campaigns. It is also an example of provincial co-operation within a national body.

The conference will be chaired by internationally renowned social responsibility advocate, Hubert Sacy, a member of the board of directors of the International Council on Alcohol and Addictions, and chair of the communications and alcohol education sections.
Sacy has been director general of Éduc'alcool, a Quebec-based, not-for-profit organization founded in 1990, which is devoted to alcohol education. He supervises all prevention, information, education and communication campaigns, programs and operations for the general public and specific target groups.
