FREDERICTON (CNB) - Alcool NB Liquor will release 19 Bordeaux wines from the rare 2005 vintage at the 19th World Wine & Food Expo in Moncton on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Dana Clendenning, president and CEO of Alcool NB Liquor, said that the wines are available in small quantities, and will be of interest to wine aficionados looking to add to their wine collections, and those who are interested in something rare or unique.
"Alcool NB Liquor was able to acquire these rare wines to headline the wine expo," said Clendenning. "These wines have been recognized as extraordinary by reputed wine authorities, including James Suckling, who said that the 2005 vintage was a superlative year for Bordeaux, and Robert Parker, who said that this vintage should evolve into one of Bordeaux's great vintages."
Bordeaux is located in the southwest of France, and is a region known for producing powerful and complex red wines that are age-worthy; flavourful and elegant whites; and some of the world's best dessert wines.
"2005 was a near-perfect vintage for both right and left bank Bordeaux," said Bill Vance, chairman of the World Wine & Food Expo. "If people have a chance to buy some of the fine wines being released, they should definitely consider this as a once-in-a-lifetime buying opportunity."
The following Bordeaux 2005 wines will be available for sale beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Alcool NB Liquor store located in the Agrena Complex of the Moncton Coliseum:
