FREDERICTON (CNB) - Alcool NB Liquor and the Whisky Tasting Society are presenting the 14th annual N.B. Spirits Festival on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 19-20, at the Delta Hotel in Fredericton.
The main part of the festival takes place from 6:45 - 10 p.m. on Friday, and features more than 160 premium products, including whiskies, rums, vodkas, gins, liqueurs and other deluxe spirits.
"We are pleased to once again feature rare and special allocation Scotches at this year's festival," said Dana Clendenning, president and CEO of Alcool NB Liquor. "These include the 1976 Macallan Fine & Rare, and both the 12- and 18-year-old Japanese whisky, Yamazaki."
Special tastings of premium Scotch whisky, rum and cognac launch the festival on Thursday, and will be featured again on Friday.
"Distinguished distillery experts will share their extensive knowledge, humour, and passion for their premium products at the special tastings," said Frank Scott of the Whisky Tasting Society. "It is an entertaining and educational way to discover the delightful spectrum of fine spirits."
More than 20 exhibitors of fine, quality spirits and gourmet food will be on hand. Alcool NB Liquor will have an on-site store that will sell products featured at the festival, as well as holiday gift packs. The store hours are 7 - 10:30 p.m. A detailed list of products and prices is available on the Alcool NB Liquor website.
Tickets are $50 in advance, or $60 at the door, and are available at select Alcool NB Liquor stores. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the New Brunswick chapter of Operation Red Nose, which provides a free, safe, ride home to motorists who do not feel fit to drive during the holiday season. Patrons of the festival will receive a complimentary taxi ride within the Greater Fredericton area at the end of the Friday show.
