FREDERICTON (CNB) - Business New Brunswick Minister Greg Byrne has announced the launch of a program that will provide support to new and growing small businesses in New Brunswick.
Applications are now available for the NB Growth Program, which will provide eligible entrepreneurs up to $100,000 for the establishment of a new business, and up to $60,000 for the expansion, diversification or productivity improvement at an existing business.
"In the Charter for Change, our government committed to create a program that supports new and growing small business, and to make New Brunswick a leader in job growth and economic development," Byrne said. "It is fitting that at the beginning of Small Business Week, our government is making this announcement. A self-sufficient New Brunswick depends on the strength of our provincial entrepreneurs. We are demonstrating our concrete support for them, and for New Brunswickers seeking sustainable employment opportunities. "
Eligible business sectors include manufacturing and processing industries, information technology companies, year-round or seasonal full-time tourism operations, commercial service firms, and some cultural enterprises.
Each company must meet program equity requirements and eligibility criteria, and their applications will be evaluated by Business New Brunswick. They must provide a business plan which will go through a rigorous process demonstrating viability of their operation, and sufficient resources and markets to meet their growth plans.
To receive an application form or additional information about the NB Growth Program, call Business New Brunswick at 506-453-3890. Applications are also available at each of the 15 Enterprise Agencies, and staff at the agencies will assist companies with the application process.
