DIEPPE (CNB) - The provincial government is investing $150,000 to help Atlantic Mini-Fridge Co. Ltd. develop and produce new products. The investment - an operating loan guarantee - will also help the company maintain its workforce of 11, including welders and machine operators.
"I am proud that the government is investing in New Brunswick's manufacturing sector," said Business New Brunswick Minister Victor Boudreau. "Atlantic Mini-Fridge Co. Ltd. has been in important part of our province's economy for 25 years, with its innovative refrigeration products. This assistance is helping the company obtain credit in these difficult financial times.
"We are proud to help local manufacturers such as this one become more competitive. Our lower tax plan, along with our plan for lower power rates, will be critical factors in helping New Brunswick companies save more money so they can create more jobs for New Brunswickers."
Atlantic Mini-Fridge Co. Ltd. began manufacturing hotel minibars in 1984. It will be developing new products, including freezers and gas refrigerator cooling units.
"Our business has recently identified an opportunity that will help diversify our product offerings and boost our sales," said Dollard Landry, president of Atlantic Mini-Fridge Co. Ltd. "This assistance from the provincial government will help us develop and manufacture cooling units onsite in Dieppe. We will begin selling this new product in the next few months and expect to see our customer base grow."
