FREDERICTON (CNB) - Seven New Brunswick companies were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the area of trade and exporting at an awards dinner in Fredericton today.
Finance Minister Greg Byrne and Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) vice-president David Plante presented Export Achievement Awards to Green Imaging Technologies Inc., Thulium Ltd., Corey Nutrition Co., LuminUltra Technologies Ltd., Tire Recycling Atlantic Canada Corp., Malley Industries Inc. and Triangle Kitchen Ltd.
"On behalf of the provincial government, I congratulate all the people associated with the companies receiving these awards," Byrne said. "You represent the best of the best in our province's most dynamic industries: a collection of new and seasoned entrepreneurs; tenacious, savvy businesspeople and above all, leaders with the passion to rise to the top in a globally-competitive marketplace."
The 2010 awards are a joint initiative of the CME and the provincial government.
"This longstanding partnership between government and industry reflects the importance of trade to our standard of living," said Plante. "With a relatively small population, New Brunswick must export its goods and services to generate wealth. Our history is filled with great success stories of companies - large and small - that have made it on the international stage."
Thulium Ltd., LuminUltra Technologies Ltd. and Malley Industries Inc. all received honourable mentions while the award winners in the four categories were:
