FREDERICTON (CNB) - More than 9,000 Notice to Vote cards with the locations and times of advance and regular polls for the Nov. 3 provincial by-election in New Maryland-Sunbury West are being sent to eligible voters this week.
"If an eligible voter does not receive a Notice to Vote card, this could mean that the individual is not on the current voters list, or not at their current address," said Mike Quinn, chief electoral officer. "Voters can have their names added to the voters list, or update their voter information, by contacting the returning office in New Maryland. Voters who are not on the voters list can also be added at the polls."
Quinn says that the cards are for voter convenience only, and it is not necessary to have one to vote, but it does speed up the process if it is presented.
Voters looking for more information may call the New Maryland returning office at 506-453-8591; TTY at 1-888-718-0544; or visit the Elections New Brunswick website at www.electionsnb.ca.
