FREDERICTON (CNB) - Notice to Vote cards for the Oct. 26 municipal byelections in Bathurst, Gagetown and Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska should start arriving by mail to residents early next week.

More than 10,000 cards with the locations and times of advance and regular polls are being sent to eligible voters.

"If an eligible voter does not receive a Notice to Vote card, this could mean that the individual is not on the current list of electors, or perhaps on the list but not at his or her current address," said Mike Quinn, chief electoral officer. "Voters may have their names added to the list of electors, or update their voter information by contacting their returning office. Voters who are not on the list of electors can also be added at the polls."

The telephone numbers for returning offices are:

Quinn said that the Notice to Vote cards are only for the convenience of voters. It is not necessary to have one, but bringing it will speed up the voting process.
