FREDERICTON (CNB) - Returning officers and clerks who will work during this fall's provincial election are in Fredericton this week and next to begin training.
New, streamlined methods of processing voters at the polls recently developed by Elections NB are among the topics being covered in the sessions scheduled in advance of the Sept. 27 general election.
"To deliver an enhanced and efficient process to voters, we are providing the highest level of training possible to the people who will work for us during the election," said Michael Quinn, New Brunswick's chief electoral officer.
Elections NB has started ordering materials that will be required to set up the returning offices and polling stations for the election.
"These are just a few examples of the ways that we are taking advantage of the benefits that come with moving to a fixed date for provincial elections," Quinn said.
