SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. (CNB) The New Brunswick rugby team did not win a game during the 2005 Canada Games, but things started differently as they won two games during the second day of competitions at the Canada Games in Prince-Edward Island.

photo"We are very happy with these victories,' said the player credited with the winning try in the morning game against PEI, Walker Blizzard. "This is giving us a lot of confidence.  We want to win and when I got the pass, I saw an opening and I give it all I had." (Multimedia)

Coach Kevin Wilson said the winless 2005 Games experience gave this year's team something to think about.

"We played with a lot of heart and we had a good offensive. I also have to give a lot of credit to our defensive plays."

Cyclists Jean-Richard Cormier was very happy with is 10th place finish in the cross country mountain bike race.

"It was very hot and I drank a lot of water," said Cormier. "I wanted to finish in the top 15 per cent, and I realized my objective. It was a very demanding race, and I was very tired."
