FREDERICTON (CNB) - The appointment of five new members to the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation Board was announced by Education Minister Dennis Furlong.

The new members are Stephen Campbell of Rothesay, Réal Dionne of Grand Falls, Roger Doiron of Richibucto, Douglas F. Goss of McAdam, and Arisma Losier of Tracadie-Sheila. The appointments are for a three-year term. The term of Susan Montague of Fredericton was also renewed for three years.

"These members bring a wide range of experience from the private sector and the public library and education fields to the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation," Furlong said.

The New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation was established in 1997. Its mandate is to highlight the services of the province's public libraries and raise funds intended mainly for the purchase of books and resources.

"By agreeing to become a trustee of the Foundation, these individuals provide a valuable service to the people of this province," Furlong said. "Their support, expertise, and the time they will devote to the development of the Public Libraries Foundation are all greatly appreciated."
