FREDERICTON (CNB) - Public libraries in New Brunswick soon will be operating under the fall/winter schedule, Education Minister Madeleine Dubé announced today.
The regular hours of operation of all public libraries with one full-time employee or more will now include Saturdays. Library users will be able to visit 48 public libraries throughout the province that will be open on Saturdays, 12 more than in previous years.
"In an effort to provide the best service possible, we continue to develop standards for the number and scheduling of library open hours," the minister said. "The new proposal will take into consideration issues raised by the public, the need for equitable service, and the resources available and operational needs."
The fall/winter schedule will take effect Oct. 18. The New Brunswick Public Library Service can be found online at: http://www.gnb.ca/0003/index-e.asp.
