FREDERICTON (CNB) - Six new members have been appointed to the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation Board, Education Minister Madeleine Dubé announced today.

The new members are Suzanne Duclos of Campbellton (chair), Dr. Heather Ann Ross of Miramichi, Alexandra Russell of Bartibog Bridge, Raymond Gionet of Caraquet, Stephanie Walsh of St. Andrew's and Drew Kingston of Dalhousie. The appointments are for a three-year term. The terms of Arisma Losier of Tracadie-Sheila, Réal Dionne of Grand Falls and Susan Montague of Fredericton were also renewed for three years.

"These members bring a wide range of experience from the private sector and the public library and education fields to the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation," Dubé said. "By agreeing to become a trustee of the foundation, these individuals provide a valuable service to the people of this province. Their support, expertise, and the time they will devote to the activities of the Public Libraries Foundation are all greatly appreciated."

The New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation was established in 1997. Its mandate is to highlight the services of the province's public libraries and raise funds intended mainly for the purchase of books and resources.
