FREDERICTON (CNB) - Nominations are being called by Education Minister Kelly Lamrock for the 2008 Teaching Excellence Award for francophone teachers.
"If we want to guide our province toward self-sufficiency, we must follow the example of our best teachers and recognize them as educational leaders," said Lamrock. "Our education plan, When kids come first, emphasizes the importance of innovative teaching, and the Teaching Excellence Award is one way to pay tribute to innovative teachers who know how to use different approaches to ensure the success of every student in their classrooms."
Nominations will be accepted in the districts until 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 1. The award will be presented by Lamrock to one teacher in each of the five francophone school districts. The ceremony will be held in Moncton on Saturday, Nov. 1.
