Escuminac-area company charged with violating Clean Air Act (09/07/10)

MIRAMICHI (CNB) - An Escuminac-area boat manufacturer has been charged in Miramichi provincial court with violating the Air Quality Regulation of the Clean Air Act.

Millennium Marine Inc. of 244 Escuminac Point Rd. is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 4.

The Department of Environment alleges that the company failed to comply with a term or condition of an air quality approval between April 1, 2008, and March 31, 2009.

Environment Minister T.J. Burke encourages all New Brunswickers to be responsible stewards of the environment and to report any infraction of environmental regulations in the province.
