July 28, 2009

SAINT JOHN (CNB) - The City of Saint John is scheduled to make its first appearance in provincial court on Aug. 13 to respond to a charge that it violated the Water Quality Regulation of The Clean Environment Act.

The Department of Environment alleges that, between June 29 and June 30, 2008, the city failed to comply with a term or condition of an Approval to Operate drinking water distribution and treatment facilities.

Environment Minister Rick Miles encourages all New Brunswickers to be responsible stewards of the environment and to report any infraction of environmental regulations in the province.
