FREDERICTON (CNB) - Environment Minister Rick Miles released today the following message marking the 40th anniversary of the New Brunswick Conservation Council:

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the New Brunswick Conservation Council, I extend my congratulations to its membership, board of directors and staff.

As minister of Environment, I certainly appreciate the work that the council does to protect and promote the environment in New Brunswick.

The council serves as a strong voice in New Brunswick, advocating for conservation, environmental protection and sustainability in this province.

I thank the council and all its staff and members for the work they do to improve the environment for all New Brunswickers and for their co-operation in working with the government.

The Department of Environment and the council have built a strong relationship and are partners on a number of important projects.

I look forward to working with the council in the future as we work toward a sustainable environment and a self-sufficient New Brunswick by 2026.
