Fish plant charged with violating Clean Environment Act (10/01/26)

SHEDIAC (CNB) - A Cap Pelé area fresh fish processing plant has been charged in Shediac Provincial Court with violating the Water Quality Regulation under the Clean Environment Act.

The Department of Environment alleges that between Aug. 27 and Sept. 2, 2009, Leslie Leger et Fils Ltee of Trois Ruisseaux, failed to comply with a term or condition of the company's Water Quality Approval to Operate.

The company is scheduled to make its first appearance in court on Jan. 28.

Environment Minister Rick Miles encourages all New Brunswickers to be responsible stewards of the environment and to report any infraction of environmental regulations in the province.
