FREDERICTON (CNB) - Environment Minister Rick Miles released today the following message about Canadian Environment Week:
I remind New Brunswickers that next week is Canadian Environment Week, held during the first week of June to coincide with World Environment Day on June 5. World Environment Day was designated by the United Nations in 1972 to encourage political action on the environment and empower people to become agents of sustainable development.
During Canadian Environment Week, I will be making several announcements around the province about the latest investments this government is making to promote environmental sustainability in New Brunswick.
Since Canadian Environment Week presents the opportunity to make simple changes that will lead to a greener province, I encourage all New Brunswickers to do something to celebrate this important week. Following are examples of things we can all do to make New Brunswick a greener place:
By making a few small changes, we can each make a big difference in protecting and promoting the environment in our province while contributing to a self-sufficient New Brunswick by 2026.
