FREDERICTON (CNB) - The provincial government will invest $30,000 from the Environmental Trust Fund (ETF) to help the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation update its environmental resource collection. Environment Minister Rick Miles made the announcement today.

"The ETF is an important tool in educating the public about our environment," said Miles. "This excellent project will provide the most up-to-date environmental resources to the public free-of charge so that people may educate themselves about the environment in our province and discover ways to lead greener lives."

The foundation will replace its aging collection of environmental resources with recent material.

Each year, the ETF provides significant support to community-based initiatives to restore, improve, preserve and protect air, land and water resources in New Brunswick.

The department announced in April that almost $4 million from the ETF would be invested in 172 environmental projects throughout New Brunswick in 2010-11.
